Module 2 to Module 3

The past few days have been looking over the handbook alongside reviewing feedback from module 2. I must have a clear definition in terms of development and what this means within my practice. This is a good starting point for me when engaging in more literature for this inquiry. Over the summer, I completed a Level 2 in Caring for Children and young people, which expanded my knowledge of the developmental stages of children and how to aid them in education. This has sparked my interest in discovering more about development to link it to the idea of creativity for my practice while teaching.

A key point within my feedback is to be able to link ideas better through the literature review. This came from a gap in my research linking imagination to creativity to explain the implications for my practice. I need to talk to Sam more about how I can be more articulate with my writing to show how literature sits within the research. One of my main worries about this module is getting ideas on the paper in the correct context for this investigation. I plan to look into possible Academic writing support and attend a Writing a Literature Review session to help this process.

There is a possibility that I might have been too optimistic about the amount of work that I had to do with both interviews and surveys in my proposal. I will discuss this with Sam in our first term tutorial on Friday.

Questions to think about

- How can I make the surveys and Interviews have a stronger Link?
- Can I save time in analysis by making the questionnaire online?
- Are the pros of two different perspectives of teachers and partners worth the extra work of the inquiry?

Overall I feel that I have a good grasp of what to do practically and more worries about writing this all down. I will push myself out of my comfort zone and try to channel my academic side.

I look forward to the Wellbeing sessions and getting started on research once my MORE From has been signed off.

  1. It is quite intimidating to know how much to push ourselves, isn't it? I'm conscious of feeling that I have to write up everything we discover during the research. Perhaps it's good to explore as much as we find interesting, so that even if it's too much for the final module submission, we have gained from the learning anyway. Good luck with the start of term.
